Pay: Competitive Hourly Rate Based on Experience and Credentials
Schedule: Monday-Friday; 7:45 AM - 2:30 PM

We are seeking a qualified American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to provide professional communication support for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals in educational, community, healthcare, and professional settings throughout Hillsborough, NC. Key Responsibilities
Provide accurate and professional American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation services
Facilitate communication between Deaf or Hard of Hearing individuals and hearing participants
Interpret spoken communication into ASL and ASL into spoken English
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards
Collaborate with clients, educators, healthcare professionals, and community partners
Arrive prepared and on time for scheduled assignments
Adapt interpreting style to meet the needs of diverse individuals and environments
Complete required documentation and reports as needed

Qualifications
Required
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Reliable transportation and ability to travel within the Hillsborough area

Preferred
RID Certification (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf)
EIPA certification or equivalent
NC Interpreter Certification
Previous experience in school, healthcare, government, legal, or community interpreting settings
Bachelor's degree in Interpreting, Deaf Studies, Education, or related field
