Youll provide dedicated, in-person support for a 1:1 caseload within a dynamic educational environment near Gainesville, GA.

Your fluency in American Sign Language and sharp interpreting skills will enable clear, effective communication between students, staff, and educational teams, supporting academic and social growth. Youll collaborate closely with educators and specialists, fostering an inclusive and positive learning atmosphere.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Sign Language Interpreter License from the Georgia Department of Education (required)
  • Solid background in educational settings, preferably providing 1:1 support
  • Proficient in interpreting spoken and signed communication accurately and confidentially
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Professionalism in maintaining student privacy, boundaries, and ethical standards
  • Ability to work exclusively onsite for the full academic schedule

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer direct 1:1 sign language interpretation for a designated student throughout the school day
  • Facilitate communication in classroom settings, small groups, and during school-related activities
  • Adapt interpretation style to fit students unique communication and learning needs
  • Participate in IEP meetings as needed and collaborate with the students support team
  • Ensure comprehension and accessibility by clarifying information when needed
