Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) required
  • Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in K-12 educational settings is strongly preferred
  • RID/NIC or EIPA certification is highly desirable
  • Ability to facilitate effective communication between Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing students and staff
  • Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and commitment to student success

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Be available per diem, on-call, responding to assignment needs as determined by the school
  • Interpret classroom instruction, conversations, and student activities accurately and confidentially
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure inclusive learning environments
  • Maintain ethical standards as defined by professional interpreter guidelines
