This opportunity is for skilled Sign Language Interpreters to support educational settings in Everett, WA. This role is essential in facilitating communication for students from preschool through eighth grade, ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Location: Everett, WA

Responsibilities:

  • Provide interpretation services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, supporting their participation in classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to understand and address students' communication needs.
  • Serve as a float interpreter, adapting to various classroom settings and requirements.
  • Maintain professional standards and stay updated on best practices in educational interpreting.
  • Support both interpreting needs and additional classroom supports as required.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Sign Language Interpreter with EIPA 4.0 or higher, or possess RID certification with a written test.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in interpreting, preferably in educational environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and faculty.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to support diverse student needs.
  • Familiarity with educational policies and practices related to deaf and hard of hearing students.
