Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) for a full-time, onsite opportunity with a supportive school district near Chesapeake, Virginia for the 20262027 school year.

Supportive Special Education and Student Services team
Responsibilities
Provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for students in classroom instruction, school activities, meetings, and other educational settings
Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers
Support students in accessing curriculum and participating fully in the educational environment
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional interpreting standards
Collaborate with teachers, Deaf and Hard of Hearing staff, and multidisciplinary teams
Participate in meetings and professional development as needed
Qualifications
EIPA score meeting Virginia school requirements (preferred)
RID Certification or equivalent certification preferred
Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
