A school district in Bellevue, Nebraska, is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support high school students for the current school year on a contract basis. This role focuses on providing effective communication access for deaf and hard-of-hearing students, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa during classroom instruction, school events, and other academic settings
- Collaborate closely with teachers, students, and support staff to ensure clear communication and comprehension
- Assist in creating an accessible educational experience tailored to individual student needs
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Participate in relevant meetings and professional development activities as needed
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting skills

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
