Location: Near Aurora, IL (Onsite) Duration: School Year Contract Discipline: Sign Language Interpreters Hours: Full-Time

This position offers a valuable opportunity to provide essential communication support for students in an elementary school environment. The role requires onsite presence near Aurora, IL, working full-time throughout the school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate effective communication between students, educators, and staff using sign language interpretation
  • Support students educational access and participation by accurately interpreting spoken and signed communication
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to assist in classroom activities and ensure accessibility
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of the interpreting profession

Qualifications:

  • Valid Interpreter Certificate such as BEI, EIPA, or NIC/RID
  • Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) approval
  • Experience working in educational settings preferred
  • Strong knowledge of sign language and interpreting best practices
  • Ability to work full-time onsite near Aurora, IL
