Job Description

Providing vital communication support to K-12 students, this position seeks a qualified Sign Language Interpreter to work full time within a school setting in Aurora, CO. The role focuses on facilitating effective communication for students requiring sign language interpretation, primarily through one-on-one interactions with students and occasional remote support for Pre-K learners. This contract will begin as soon as possible and continue through May 27, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver accurate and clear sign language interpretation in classroom and related school settings.
  • Support individual students on a caseload basis in one-on-one sessions.
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to enhance educational access.
  • Provide remote support for Pre-K students, as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and comply with school protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Active Sign Language Interpreter certification/license within the state of Colorado.
  • Current certification through the Colorado Department of Education (CDE).
  • Demonstrated proficiency verified by EIPA score of 3.5 or higher and/or RID certification.
  • Prior experience working with Pre-K students remotely is preferred.
  • Ability to commit to full-time hours (35 hours per week) on an onsite basis.
