Qualifications:

  • Georgia Licensure/Credentials as a Sign Language Interpreter
  • A minimum EIPA score of 3.5, indicating a strong ability to interpret in educational settings
  • Experience working with elementary school students preferred
  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and other relevant communication methods
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents

Location:

  • Augusta, GA

Responsibilities:

  • Attend classes alongside the assigned student and interpret instructional content
  • Provide access to auditory information and facilitate communication during lessons
  • Support students in understanding and navigating social interactions with peers
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to enhance the educational experience
  • Reteach and clarify information as necessary to ensure student comprehension
