Job Description

Bring your expertise in sign language interpretation to support students across K-12 settings throughout the 2026-2027 academic year. We are seeking four dedicated professionals for full-time, onsite positions, working closely with students and educational teams to facilitate effective communication and access to curriculum. This rewarding contract opportunity runs from August 24, 2026 through June 11, 2027.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret classroom instructions, discussions, and educational activities between students and staff to ensure accessibility for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students.
  • Foster inclusive learning environments by partnering with teachers, support staff, and families.
  • Adapt interpreting styles as needed for varying grade levels (K-12) and individual learning plans.
  • Maintain professionalism, discretion, and ethical standards as outlined by industry and state regulations.
  • Assist in extracurricular activities and school events as requested.
  • Provide feedback to educational teams regarding student access and participation.
  • Maintain accurate documentation as part of the educational support team.

Qualifications:

  • Valid and current Sign Language Interpreter Certification/Licensure in Oregon.
  • Experience interpreting in educational (K-12) settings strongly preferred.
  • Strong commitment to fostering educational equity and student development.
  • Ability to work on-site full time for the 2026-2027 school year.
  • Professional fluency in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

This is an onsite-only position located in the scenic regions near Rosenburg and Douglas, OR, with caseloads spanning kindergarten through high school. Youll be instrumental in making academic content accessible and supporting students success.
