Job Description

Seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support K-12 students in a dynamic school environment from August 6, 2025, to June 5, 2026. This full-time, onsite contract position is ideal for a professional passionate about facilitating communication and learning for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality sign language interpreting services for K-12 students across various subjects.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to ensure effective communication access.
  • Adapt interpreting techniques to meet diverse student needs and educational settings.
  • Maintain professional standards and stay current with best practices in interpreting.

Qualifications:

  • EIPA score of 4.0 or higher, or membership with the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) as of 2008.
  • Alternatively, successful completion of the Educational Sign Skills Evaluation - Interpreter and Receptive (ESSE-I/R).
  • Or demonstrated proficiency through the NAD/ACCI interpreter assessment.
  • No state licensure required but must meet the above qualification standards.
  • Previous experience interpreting in educational settings preferred.

Location:

  • Onsite in Antioch, CA
  • Full-time hours with a caseload serving students in grades K-12
