A contract position is available for an experienced Itinerant Music Therapist to provide specialized therapeutic services within a school setting. This role is based in Mount Airy, MD, and involves working within the school district on an itinerant basis, serving multiple locations as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver music therapy services to students requiring therapeutic support, aiding in their educational and emotional development.
- Collaborate with educational staff to integrate therapeutic goals within individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and therapy sessions.
- Adapt therapeutic approaches to meet the diverse needs of students across various school settings.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Maryland Music Therapy licensure.
- Proven experience as a music therapist, preferably in educational or school settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, families, and school personnel.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, given the itinerant nature of the position.
Position Details:
- Contract position starting ASAP through June 5th, 2026.
- Scheduling involves one day per week of service.
- Location: Mount Airy, MD, with travel to multiple school locations within the district as assigned.
