Job Description

Bring your expertise as a licensed School Psychologist to a dynamic educational setting in the Washington DC metro area, just south of the city. This school-based contract role is ideal for professionals who excel in assessment, consultation, and supporting student well-being through evidence-based practices. Youll enjoy a primarily on-site schedule, with the unique option for a hybrid approachworking remotely one day per week if needed.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Virginia DOE Certification and Virginia Psychology Licensure required
  • Experience conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and creating Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
  • Familiarity with Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) preferred
  • Capability to consult with educators and provide assessment-based recommendations
  • Ability to collaborate with social workers for counseling support when necessary
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments for elementary and middle school students, focusing on psycho-educational evaluations (no academic achievement testing required)
  • Consult with teachers, staff, and families to support student development
  • Provide FBA/BIP services and guidance within the school community
  • Occasionally support the MTSS process and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
  • Maintain thorough, accurate documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines
  • Begin necessary credentialing steps immediately, including VA Department of Social Services check and TB testing

Youll be working at two sites (an elementary and a middle school), covering students primarily during the standard academic day (8:00am3:30pm, 37.5 hours per week).
