Job Description

A full-time opportunity is available for a dedicated specialist in Port Hueneme, CA. This role involves providing essential psychological services to students in a K-12 educational setting, focusing on their educational and emotional needs. The position runs from as soon as possible until the end of the school year, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM.

Qualifications:

  • Valid California School Psychologist License
  • Proven experience in conducting psychological evaluations, particularly with preschool-aged children
  • Strong understanding of K-12 education systems and processes
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents

Location:

  • Port Hueneme, California

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and evaluations for students
  • Provide consultation to educators and school staff regarding students mental health and learning needs
  • Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Offer counseling and support services to students and families
  • Participate in school meetings and contribute to the development of a positive school climate
  • Provide training and resources to staff on mental health best practices
