Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) in a vibrant school setting near Norristown, PA. This onsite role offers a collaborative environment where your skills will make a meaningful difference for students with diverse needs.
In this position, youll deliver direct and consultative TDHH services, working with students across all grade levels. With a 30-hour workweek, you will tailor support and instructional strategies to each student, empowering their academic and social success. A key requirement for this role is fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) to effectively communicate with at least one student in your caseload.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Active TDHH license valid in Pennsylvania
- Fluency in ASL to support communication needs
- Prior experience working within K-12 educational settings is a plus
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Passion for student advocacy and inclusive education
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) for DHH students
- Provide direct instruction and classroom support, adapting curriculum as necessary
- Collaborate with general education staff, specialists, and families
- Conduct assessments and evaluate student progress
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students unique needs
