Job Description

A school district in the New Orleans, LA area is seeking four skilled School Psychologists for a contract position running from ASAP through May 22, 2026. This opportunity involves providing critical psychological services in a K-12 setting within local schools, supporting student assessment, intervention, and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological evaluations and assessments for students across K-12
  • Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educators and families
  • Provide counseling and behavioral interventions to support student success
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff on student mental health and academic concerns
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with Louisiana Department of Education requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Louisiana DOE Certification as a School Psychologist required
  • Experience working in K-12 educational settings preferred
  • Strong knowledge of child development, assessment tools, and intervention strategies
  • Ability to manage caseloads while communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Commitment to supporting student well-being and fostering a positive school environment

Position Details:

  • Location: New Orleans, LA area (Metairie)
  • Schedule: 35 hours per week, 7 hours per day plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch
  • Contract duration: Current school year through 5/22/2026
  • Caseload and number of schools assigned: To be determined
