Job Description

A full-time School Psychologist position is available for the 20252026 school year in Mesquite, NM, serving a K-12 school environment with an on-site assignment primarily at the middle school level. This contract role extends through the end of May with the possibility of continuing through June for Extended School Year services. Part-time candidates will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide therapy services with an emphasis on supporting middle school students.
  • Conduct psychological re-evaluations as required.
  • Participate in crisis intervention and support activities.
  • Collaborate closely with school staff in a small, supportive district environment.
  • If assigned to multiple campuses, travel time between locations will be compensated.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold valid New Mexico state licensure as a School Psychologist.
  • Level 2 or 3 licensure preferred; Level 1 licensure will be accepted.
  • Experience working in K-12 school settings, particularly with middle school populations.
  • Ability to manage therapy caseloads, re-evaluations, and crisis interventions.
  • Flexible and adaptable in a small district setting.

Location and Additional Information:

  • Position is based in Southern New Mexico near Las Cruces, a beautiful area with proximity to El Paso, TX (approximately 46 miles), making it accessible to candidates from both regions.
  • Candidates from neighboring areas such as Deming, Truth or Consequences, and locations near White Sands National Park are encouraged to apply.

This role will cover the full school year, continuing even after the current psychologist returns from leave, ensuring stability for the districts students.
