We are partnering with a supportive school district in the New Orleans (NOLA) area that is seeking a dedicated and collaborative School Psychologist for the upcoming school year.
This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside educators, administrators, families, and related service providers to help students achieve academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to determine students' educational needs and eligibility for special education services.
- Prepare detailed evaluation reports and present findings during eligibility, IEP, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers to develop individualized support plans and evidence-based interventions.
- Provide consultation on academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and mental health concerns.
- Assist with Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), crisis intervention, and MTSS initiatives.
- Monitor student progress and utilize data to guide recommendations and interventions.
- Maintain accurate documentation while ensuring compliance with Louisiana and federal special education regulations.
- Foster strong partnerships with students, families, and school personnel to promote a positive and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications
- Master's, Educational Specialist (Ed.S.), or Doctoral degree in School Psychology.
- Valid Louisiana School Psychologist certification/license or eligibility to obtain certification prior to the start date.
- Experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations and writing comprehensive reports.
- Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Previous school-based experience is preferred.
