Step into a pivotal role supporting students success at the K-2 level for a contract assignment beginning in December and continuing through the end of April. This position is based mainly at a primary school near Hartford, CT, with the possibility of providing a few evaluations at nearby parochial schools. Your expertise will focus solely on evaluationsno counseling duties requiredensuring that young learners receive the assessments they need to thrive.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Connecticut School Psychologist license (CT PSYCH)
- Previous experience in a school setting, particularly with early elementary children, preferred
- Strong understanding of evaluation techniques for children in kindergarten through second grade
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive educational and psychological evaluations for K-2 students
- Occasionally travel to a parochial school for additional student evaluations as assigned
- Prepare clear, detailed evaluation reports for educational teams and families
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and other support staff to interpret findings and inform educational planning
- Adhere to all Connecticut regulations and ethical standards for school psychologists
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all school and district procedures
Hours and Assignment Details:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 3:30pm, includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
- Main location is a K-2 school with potential brief assignments at parochial schools
- Age group served: kindergarten through second grade
