Job Description
An opportunity is available for a full-time School Psychologist serving an elementary caseload for grades K-5 during the 2025-2026 school year. This contract position supports students from preschool through age 21 with a focus on evaluation, intervention, and collaboration within an elementary school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist school staff in identifying students with disabilities and planning evaluation and reevaluation procedures in compliance with special education eligibility requirements.
- Administer intellectual, psychosocial, adaptive behavior, and other psychological assessments; provide comprehensive written and oral evaluation reports for professionals and parents.
- Design and complete behavior and ecological observation and data collection systems that support student management and interventions suited to individual needs.
- Coordinate services to promote collaboration among school, home, and community resources for students and families.
- Participate in evaluation teams, pupil needs committees, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams.
- Provide consultation to staff and parents regarding student educational needs and strategies to enhance instructional and learning environments.
- Develop and suggest pre-referral interventions to maintain students in regular education programs whenever appropriate.
- Deliver psychological support services to students individually or in groups as specified on IEPs.
- Engage in professional development related to evaluation, educational planning, and legal due process issues.
- Contribute to district projects requiring school psychologist expertise and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota School Psychologist license is required.
- Experience working with elementary school students, specifically grades K-5.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, psychological assessment tools, and intervention strategies.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills to work with multidisciplinary teams, families, and students.
