Take your expertise as a School Psychologist to new communities in Michigan through this travel-friendly, contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 academic year. With current openings to support K-12 students across the Grand Blanc, Lansing, and Detroit regions, you will work on-site, engaging directly with students and staff to foster positive learning environments and facilitate effective interventions.
Youll be responsible for a manageable caseload of approximately 60 students exhibiting mild to moderate disabilities, using your skills to identify, assess, and collaborate on support plans that can make a real impact. Your insights will be crucial in helping school teams address academic, social, and emotional challenges for students across all assigned school buildings.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Michigan School Psychologist Certification or Preliminary School Psychologist Certification required
- Official university transcripts must be supplied prior to presenting to the district
- Previous experience as a school psychologist, or in a similar educational or agency setting, is preferred
- Skilled in psychological assessment of cognitive, behavioral, academic, and socio-emotional development
- Familiarity with special education policies and MTSS/RtI frameworks
- Strong communication, collaboration, and consultation abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations to determine eligibility for special education services
- Participate in team meetings and offer expertise in educational planning
- Develop and help implement early intervention strategies
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with current regulations
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to promote student growth
- Stay updated through regular professional development
