Step into a dynamic role supporting student well-being and success as a School Psychologist through a rewarding contract opportunity in the Chesapeake area. This position offers a chance to work across 2-3 school sites, providing essential services to approximately 40-50 students for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Your expertise will be instrumental in performing diagnostic evaluations and assessing students intellectual, social, and emotional development. Youll work collaboratively, conducting consultations with educational staff and families, as well as preparing and maintaining comprehensive reports and records. Desired Qualifications:

• Current and valid Virginia School Psychologist credential (VA Psych)
• Experience with diagnostic evaluation, assessment, and intervention in school settings
• Strong understanding of a range of intellectual, social, and emotional disabilities
• Ability to work effectively across multiple schools, collaborating with a team of educators and parents
• Excellent record-keeping and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough assessments and diagnostic evaluations for students referred for services
• Develop clear, actionable reports highlighting findings and recommendations
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families in supporting students educational plans
• Keep accurate and up-to-date student records, maintaining confidentiality
• Participate in team meetings and consultations to promote best outcomes for students

This full-time contract spans the school year from August 24, 2026, to July 11, 2027, with a consistent 40-hour work week. The position offers the flexibility of onsite or remote work, and the district prides itself on its supportive educational environment and commitment to professional growth.
