Job Description

An opportunity exists for a skilled School Psychologist to support elementary students within the Virginia Beach area. This full contract position requires an on-site presence, with no virtual or hybrid options available. The role involves working directly within schools to assess and support student needs, with a focus on elementary-aged children during the standard school day from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments and testing for elementary students.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, including ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal), re-evaluations, and IEP (Individualized Education Program) sessions.
  • Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and support staff to develop effective intervention plans.
  • Manage a caseload that aligns with district needs and varies by assignment.
  • Maintain adherence to state licensure and active DOE certification requirements.
  • Provide timely documentation and reports in compliance with district and state guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current state licensure as a School Psychologist.
  • Active Department of Education certification in school psychology.
  • Experience or willingness to work within elementary school settings.
  • New graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with a diverse team.

Location: Virginia Beach area, with assignments potentially across multiple schools.
Schedule: Full-time or part-time options available, with flexible caseloads to accommodate.
