Job Description

A full-time opportunity is available for a Licensed School Psychologist specializing in elementary education, focusing on grades K-5, for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract position offers the chance to work within an elementary school setting in Burnsville, MN, supporting a diverse elementary caseload.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with school staff to identify students with disabilities from preschool through age 21, developing and implementing appropriate evaluation and reevaluation plans.
  • Administer a variety of psychological assessments, including intellectual, psychosocial, and adaptive behavior tests, to determine Special Education eligibility.
  • Prepare comprehensive written and oral evaluation reports for educators and parents based on assessment outcomes.
  • Develop and conduct behavioral observations and data collection; design interventions aligned with student needs in both school and community settings.
  • Facilitate coordination between school, home, and community services to support students and their families.
  • Participate actively on evaluation teams, pupil needs committees, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams.
  • Provide consultation to educators and parents regarding student educational needs and effective instructional strategies.
  • Recommend or develop pre-referral interventions aimed at supporting students within regular education programs where appropriate.
  • Offer psychological support services as outlined in student IEPs, individually or in groups.
  • Engage in professional development related to evaluation, educational planning, and legal due process matters.
  • Contribute to special projects or initiatives requiring the expertise of a school psychologist.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minnesota School Psychologist License mandated.
  • Experience working with elementary-age students preferred.
  • Strong assessment, consultation, and collaborative skills.
  • Ability to design behavioral interventions and support plans.
