A K-12 school in Waterville, ME is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide essential support for a student requiring continuous care throughout the school day. This contract position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by ensuring the health and safety of a student with special medical needs in an educational setting.
Responsibilities:
- Accompany and assist a student with seizures from bus pickup at 8:30 am through the end of the school day at 2 pm, three days per week
- Monitor and implement the student's seizure plan, maintaining close supervision at all times
- Support the students mobility while using a helmet and drop harness safely
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure a safe and accommodating environment
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Experience working in pediatrics or school nursing settings preferred
- Knowledge of seizure care and emergency protocols
- Strong observational and communication skills to coordinate care effectively
- Ability to provide compassionate and patient-centered support
Location: Waterville, Maine
Schedule: Approximately 24 hours per week (specific days to be confirmed)
Contract Duration: Current school year through June 10, 2026
Work Environment: Onsite position within the school setting
