A healthcare professional is needed to provide specialized nursing care in a school setting, supporting a middle school student with complex medical needs. This contract position offers an opportunity to apply clinical skills in a meaningful educational environment while transitioning into a full-time health room nurse role in the afternoons.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid RN or LPN/LVN licensure with school nursing experience preferred
- Ability to manage a 1:1 caseload, including care for a student with a tracheostomy and seizure disorder
- Strong clinical assessment and intervention skills
- Excellent communication abilities with students, staff, and families
- Comfortable working independently and within a team
- Commitment to supporting student health and safety throughout the school day
Location and Schedule:
- Position located in Naperville, IL, serving a middle school student
- Contract duration aligned with the current school year
- Part-time hours initially with transition to a full-time health room nurse role in the afternoon
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care tailored to a students complex medical needs during the school day
- Monitor and manage trach care and seizure protocols
- Document health information and communicate regularly with school officials, families, and healthcare providers
- Support the health room as a full-time nurse in the afternoon, addressing a broader range of student health needs
- Promote a safe and healthy school environment through education and preventative care
Compensation:
- Competitive pay range of $33 to $40 per hour based on experience and qualifications
