Job Description
Providing essential healthcare services within a K-12 school setting, this role focuses on supporting student health and wellness through clinical skills and health education. The position requires a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with Texas licensure to deliver care in the campus clinic located in Copperas Cove, TX. This contract role offers a school year duration, Monday through Friday, with 35 hours per week serving a diverse student population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform health assessments to multiple students daily, addressing a range of pediatric needs across K-12 age groups
- Administer hearing, vision, and spinal screenings as part of routine student health evaluations
- Provide emergency care and first aid treatment as needed, recognizing and responding to urgent health situations
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized health plans
- Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with school health policies and state regulations
- Educate students and staff on health promotion and disease prevention techniques
Qualifications:
- Valid RN or LVN license issued by the state of Texas required
- Experience or familiarity with school-based health screenings preferred
- Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage a varied caseload of students and respond to emergent health needs
- Commitment to promoting a safe and healthy learning environment
Location: Copperas Cove, TX
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week
