Step into a vital leadership role in student health by supporting middle school communities as a Certified School Nurse. This is a full-time, onsite contract position based near Elgin, IL, with responsibilities that span across four middle school locations. Your expertise will provide essential flexibility, helping ensure that every student receives the care they deserve, while also serving as a valuable resource to onsite RN colleagues.
As a Certified School Nurse in this unique flex capacity, you will play an integral part in facilitating student Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating closely with school teams, students, and parents to promote a safe and healthy environment.
Qualifications:
- Current Illinois Certified School Nurse (CSN) license required
- Strong clinical nursing background, particularly with school-aged children
- Experience collaborating within educational or pediatric settings preferred
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to travel between four nearby middle school campuses
Responsibilities:
- Support and collaborate with onsite RNs to ensure comprehensive student health services
- Flex across assigned locations to meet changing daily needs
- Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care for students, including those with IEPs
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute expertise during IEP processes
- Maintain accurate student health records and ensure compliance with state regulations
- Provide health education and advocate for student well-being
