Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting young learners as a Reading Specialist within a vibrant Pre K-2 library setting. Focused on providing literacy and learning support, this full-time role takes place onsite, working closely with teachers and students to foster a passion for reading and academic growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Education or a closely related field required
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with relevant endorsement(s)
- Experience in designing, adapting, and delivering curriculum to early elementary learners
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families
- Dedication to enhancing literacy and learning support for K-2 students
Core Responsibilities:
- Guide reading groups and one-on-one interventions for students identified for literacy support
- Develop and implement evidence-based strategies to advance reading skills among pre-kindergarten through second grade students
- Design creative, engaging lessons and library experiences aligned to grade-level standards
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support differentiation and resource development
- Maintain organized records of student progress and communicate effectively with families and colleagues
- Create a welcoming library environment and promote a love of reading among all students
This assignment runs from August 17 through May 27, 2027, providing you with the chance to make a lasting impact in a supportive school community. Working exclusively onsite, youll play a key role in nurturing young readers and shaping the library as a true hub of learning.
