Job Description

Make a significant impact in the lives of elementary students as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in a supportive school environment located near Tacoma, WA. This contract role offers the opportunity to work closely with children who have behavioral and developmental needs, assisting them in achieving positive academic and behavioral outcomes.

In this position, you will work full-time31.5 hours per weekduring the school year, from September 2, 2026, to June 23, 2027. You will collaborate with a dedicated team of education professionals to implement behavior intervention plans created by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in an elementary school setting by following behavior intervention strategies.
  • Collect and record student data to track progress and outcomes.
  • Deliver individualized instruction and interventions under BCBA direction.
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce positive behaviors.
  • Assist with classroom management and contribute to a constructive learning environment.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers.
  • Respond proactively to challenging situations, applying de-escalation techniques as needed.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Active CBT/RBT certification/licensure.
  • Ability to pass WSP and FBI background checks, including sexual misconduct clearance.
  • Valid Washington State drivers license or demonstration of mobility.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Prior experience in a school setting preferred, but not required.
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
