Job Description

A full-time physical therapist position is available for the current school year in a K-12 educational setting located in Tavares, FL. This contract role offers the opportunity to support a diverse student population across multiple schools within the county, providing comprehensive physical therapy services to both direct caseload students and consultations.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver physical therapy services to approximately 40 active students, ranging across K-12 grade levels.
  • Manage itinerant caseloads, covering all schools throughout the district as assigned.
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and professional compliance in accordance with licensure requirements and school policies.
  • Participate in ongoing communication and coordination to ensure timely and effective service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a current professional physical therapy license.
  • Experience working with school-age children, ideally in K-12 settings.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload including direct therapy and consultation roles.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to travel across multiple school locations throughout the district.

Location: Tavares, Florida
Duration: Immediate start through May 29, 2026
Schedule: Full-time, typically 8 hours per day plus a 30-minute unpaid break
