Job Description

A contract opportunity is available for a Physical Therapist specializing in school-based services, located in Sunnyvale, CA. This position focuses on providing therapeutic interventions and support to students within a school setting, facilitating their physical development and enhancing their functional capabilities to support academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate students physical abilities and needs in collaboration with educational teams.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each students requirements.
  • Provide direct physical therapy services to students, focusing on improving mobility, strength, coordination, and overall physical function.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate therapy goals into the educational environment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions, progress notes, and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and adjust therapeutic strategies as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in the state of California.
  • Experience or training in pediatric physical therapy, preferably within a school setting.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of educational frameworks and IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) regulations is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize responsibilities in a dynamic environment.

Location: Sunnyvale, California work within a school environment supporting students physical and educational development.
