Job Description

Empower K-8 students to reach their full potential through supportive, student-centered physical therapy in a rewarding school environment. A contract opportunity is available for an experienced Physical Therapist to provide services for the 2026-2027 school year on an 18-hour/week basis. This role supports approximately 11-15 students across two buildings and offers the chance to collaborate within a caring multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Massachusetts Physical Therapist license
  • Previous experience in a pediatric or school-based setting strongly preferred
  • Proficient in assessment, IEP development, and therapeutic intervention for K-8 students
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, staff, and families
  • Compassionate approach, adaptable mindset, and commitment to creating positive student outcomes

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver physical therapy services as outlined in student IEPs, focusing on improving functional mobility and participation in school activities
  • Evaluate students' needs using standardized assessments and professional judgment
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to integrate therapy goals into classroom routines
  • Maintain clear, timely documentation and progress reports on students
  • Provide consultation to teachers to foster understanding and accommodations for students receiving PT services
  • Travel between two school buildings within a supportive and collegial environment
