Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Physical Therapist license from the state of California
- Prior experience providing PT services in schools or pediatric healthcare settings preferred
- Solid understanding of IEP processes, documentation, and goal setting
- Strong communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and support staff
- Compassionate, patient-focused, and adaptable to diverse student needs and educational environments
- Ability to manage a caseload, track progress, and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students physical abilities and create personalized treatment plans to enhance participation in classroom and school-based activities
- Deliver direct PT services to students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support students overall educational and developmental goals
- Maintain accurate records of evaluations, progress notes, and communications in accordance with school and district requirements
- Educate staff and families on strategies and exercises that can benefit student outcomes both at school and at home
- Stay current on best practices and continue professional development within school-based physical therapy
