In this vital school setting role near Salem, OH, you'll support students mobility, access to the curriculum, and participation in school activitieshelping them achieve their optimal potential in an inclusive educational environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Physical Therapy required
- Active Ohio (OH) Physical Therapist license
- School-based or pediatric experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, educators, and families
- Understanding of IEP processes, documentation, and therapy plan development
- Compassionate, patient, and driven to support student success
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and develop individualized physical therapy treatment plans for students across elementary, middle, and high school settings
- Collaborate with special education teams to integrate therapy goals with academic programming
- Deliver direct therapy services on-site, adjusting interventions to students unique needs
- Document all assessments, progress reports, and session notes in compliance with district and state guidelines
- Provide training and guidance to staff and families on mobility strategies, adaptive equipment, and classroom accommodations
- Participate in IEP meetings, progress review conferences, and related school-based consultations
- Support a safe, welcoming school environment that promotes inclusion and participation for students with physical needs
