Job Description

A full-time physical therapist opportunity is available within a K-12 school district located in Tavares, FL. This contract position runs for the current school year, with a start date as soon as possible and ending on May 29, 2026. The role involves providing itinerant physical therapy services across multiple schools throughout the county, supporting an active caseload of approximately 40 students ranging from various grade levels.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering physical therapy evaluations, treatments, and consultations to meet students individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborating with educational staff and families to support student progress and participation
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting on student therapy outcomes
  • Traveling between assigned schools within the district to provide services
  • Participating in team meetings, professional development, and compliance activities as required

Qualifications:

  • Current professional physical therapy license
  • Experience working in school settings preferred
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload and adapt to a mobile work environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with educators, families, and other professionals
