Job Description

A physical therapist position is available within a K-12 school district in Oakland, CA. This contract role runs from September 15, 2025, through June 3, 2026, with a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week. The position requires on-site work with an itinerant caseload across multiple school sites within the district.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide physical therapy services to students from early childhood through transition age across various school locations.
  • Manage a caseload spanning up to a dozen different schools, ensuring individualized care and therapy plans at each site.
  • Collaborate with educational staff and families to support student mobility, independence, and participation in school activities.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and district regulations and guidelines related to physical therapy in an educational setting.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services and progress reports.

Qualifications:

  • Valid California Physical Therapist (PT) license is required.
  • Experience working as a physical therapist in school settings, preferably with itinerant caseloads.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple assignments across various locations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and school staff.
  • Commitment to supporting students' educational and developmental needs through therapeutic interventions.
