In this school-based physical therapy opportunity, youll play a pivotal role in fostering each students independence, mobility, and participation within their educational environment. Collaborate with a passionate multidisciplinary team as you design and implement individualized treatment plans that make a real difference.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Masters degree in Physical Therapy required
- Current Minnesota physical therapist license in good standing
- Previous experience in schools or pediatric settings highly valued
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage students, families, and educators
- Flexibility and adaptability when working at various school sites and with different age groups
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments for students to determine needs related to motor skills, mobility, and positioning in a school environment
- Develop and deliver individualized and group therapy interventions aligned with students IEP goals
- Collaborate with teachers, special educators, parents, and other service providers to promote student success and inclusion
- Observe, monitor, and document student progress, adapting strategies as needed
- Educate and coach school staff on appropriate interventions, assistive equipment, and classroom adaptations
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute valuable insights to the educational team
