This contract role offers both part-time and full-time opportunities, giving you the flexibility to align your work schedule with your lifestyle while working with a dynamic school community in the Carson City, MI area.
As the athletic trainer, youll play a vital part in student athlete wellbeingfocusing on injury prevention, immediate evaluation and care, and supporting athletes through rehabilitation. While your skills will be needed year-round, expect to be especially active and engaged during peak sports seasons like football and basketball, providing hands-on expertise during practices, games, and tournaments.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree in Athletic Training or related field
- Valid and current Athletic Training certification/license
- Experience in a school or sports setting, with strong assessment and treatment skills
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Effective communication, especially when interacting with students, coaches, and parents
- Detail-oriented and thorough in maintaining injury records and progress notes
Key Responsibilities:
- Prevent, diagnose, and treat athletic injuries for student-athletes
- Develop injury prevention and recovery programs tailored to individual and team needs
- Provide immediate care during practices, games, and athletic events
- Collaborate with coaches and school health professionals on return-to-play decisions
- Oversee rehabilitation plans and track recovery progress
- Educate athletes and staff on wellness, nutrition, and injury prevention
