Job Description

This role focuses on providing emotional support and behavioral interventions to students within a K-12 educational setting. As an Emotional Support Interventionist, you will play a vital role in fostering a positive learning environment by addressing emotional and behavioral challenges. Located in Schnecksville, PA, this contract position spans the current school year, working 32.5 to 35 hours per week across five days.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Juvenile Justice, Social Behavior, or a related field preferred; Associates degree with a minimum of 1 year (preferably 3 years) of relevant experience will also be considered
  • Experience in emotional support, therapeutic, or behavior-based classroom settings strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of emotional and behavioral disorders such as anxiety, oppositional behaviors, and trauma-related challenges
  • Skilled in de-escalation techniques, positive behavior reinforcement, and relationship-building strategies
  • Ability to maintain calm and professionalism during high-stress or crisis situations
  • Capable of maintaining professional boundaries and modeling appropriate behavior consistently
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and communication purposes

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to implement individualized behavior support plans
  • Provide emotional and behavioral support to students, helping them manage challenges and foster social-emotional growth
  • Utilize de-escalation techniques effectively in response to behavioral incidents
  • Document student progress and behavior accurately using designated software and reporting tools
  • Maintain confidentiality while building trusting relationships with students and staff
