Job Description

Special Education Paraprofessional Openings (Various Support Levels)
Location: San Francisco, CA (placements available across multiple school campuses across the region)
Position Type: Contract | School-Based
Compensation: Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications
Sunbelt Staffing is currently seeking motivated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessionals to support students within a large, diverse school system in the San Francisco area. This role is ideal for individuals who are flexible, dependable, and passionate about helping students succeed in a supportive educational setting.

Role Summary
Paraprofessionals will be assigned to a campus and may support a variety of classrooms and student needs. Daily responsibilities can include academic assistance, behavioral support, and personal care. Flexibility is key, as assignments are determined by campus needs.
Candidates must be comfortable assisting with all aspects of student support, including toileting, feeding, mobility, and medically-related tasks when necessary.

Work Schedule Options
Schedules vary depending on assigned grade level:

Pre-K: 4.5 hours/day (approx. 22.5 hours/week)
Elementary: 5.5 hours/day (approx. 27.5 hours/week)
Middle School: 6.5 hours/day (approx. 32.5 hours/week)
High School: 6.5 hours/day (approx. 32.5 hours/week)
Bus Aide Roles: 8 hours/day, including student transportation support before and after school


Basic Qualifications
Applicants must meet at least one of the following requirements:

Associates degree or higher
Minimum of 48 completed college units
High school diploma plus passing score on the CBEST
High school diploma plus passing score on an instructional aide/paraprofessional exam


Additional Preferred Experience & Credentials
Candidates with any of the following may qualify for specialized placements:

Current CPR and First Aid certification (renewed every two years)
Experience supporting students with behavioral or social-emotional challenges
Training in seizure response or medical procedures (e.g., G-tube feeding, glucose checks, nebulizer use)
Ability to assist students with mobility and extended community-based activities
Proficiency in sign language and familiarity with Deaf culture
Experience with visual impairments or Braille
Vocational nursing licensure (for applicable roles)


Primary Duties

Deliver instructional and behavioral support under the guidance of certified staff
Assist in implementing IEP goals and classroom plans
Support students with daily living tasks and personal care needs
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school teams
Promote a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
