Job Description

A contract paraprofessional position is available to support middle school students at a Northdale Middle School location in the Saint Paul area. This role involves working Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, totaling 32.5 hours weekly. The assignment runs from February 17, 2026, through June 5, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the classroom under the direction of certified teachers to support student learning and engagement.
  • Work directly with middle school students to provide academic and behavioral support.
  • Collaborate with educators to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and classroom activities.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Monitor student progress and report observations as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Must meet the highly qualified paraeducator standard through one of the following: Passing the Minnesota Board Highly Qualified Para Exam. Completion of at least 60 college credits with official transcripts provided (diplomas are not accepted).
  • Experience working with middle school students preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work at the assigned site located at 11301 Dogwood St NW, Minneapolis, MN 55448.
  • Commitment to becoming a direct hire with the school district after 120 days of contracting.
