Job Description

An elementary school is seeking a highly qualified paraprofessional to provide instructional support and assist in classroom management. This contract assignment runs from January 26, 2026, to June 5, 2026, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 32.5 hours per week (including a 30-minute unpaid lunch). The role is located at a site in Minneapolis, MN, within an elementary education setting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be Highly Qualified by passing the Minnesota Board Para Educator Exam or by having at least 60 college credits (official transcripts required; diplomas are not accepted)
  • Experience working as a paraprofessional in a school environment is preferred
  • Ability to support diverse learners and assist teachers in delivering effective instruction
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Flexibility to commit to the full contract duration and hours indicated

Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans and managing student behavior
  • Provide focused assistance to individual students or small groups to enhance learning outcomes
  • Help monitor and assist students with special needs and accommodations as directed
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to track student progress and address learning challenges
  • Follow district policies and procedures to uphold educational standards

Additional Information:

  • After 120 days of contract employment, the candidate may be considered for direct hire by the school district
