Job Description

This role offers the opportunity to provide dedicated support as a Part-Time Behavior Paraprofessional within a K-12 educational setting. Situated in Mount Vernon, WA, this position supports a transitional student aged 19, focusing on behavioral guidance and one-on-one assistance. The assignment operates on a contract-to-hire basis during the current school year, working three days weekly from 9 AM to 1 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement individualized behavior plans to support the students social and academic development.
  • Provide one-on-one support tailored to the specific needs of the transitional student.
  • Collaborate with teachers and related service providers to reinforce positive behaviors and promote student success.
  • Monitor and document behavior patterns and progress, reporting observations to the education team.
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing environment aligned with program goals.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Prior experience as a Behavior Paraprofessional or in a similar role working directly with students with behavioral needs.
  • Strong understanding of behavior intervention techniques and strategies.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships with students.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to supporting transitional students in their educational and social growth.
