Make a meaningful impact by supporting students in their educational journey! In this contract role, youll work alongside educators to deliver essential services as a Paraprofessional and Braillist, ensuring students have the resources and guidance they need to reach their fullest potential.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience as a Paraprofessional in an educational setting
- Proficiency in braille transcription and familiarity with assistive technology for visually impaired students
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively partner with teachers and support staff
- Patience, adaptability, and genuine enthusiasm for working with children of diverse abilities
- Understanding of confidentiality, sensitivity, and classroom protocols
- Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) under teacher guidance
Responsibilities:
- Support the instructional needs of students who are visually impaired by preparing accessible materials in braille
- Assist lead teachers in classroom activities while providing one-on-one or small group guidance
- Adapt educational content and classroom tasks to accommodate students unique learning requirements
- Use braille technology and teaching tools to facilitate inclusive learning experiences
- Help maintain a supportive, organized, and positive classroom environment
- Track student progress and provide feedback to instructional staff
