Special Education Paraprofessional | High School Behavioral Support | Levittown, PA
Location: Levittown, Pennsylvania
Position Type: Full-Time, School Year Assignment
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Hours: 37.5 Hours Per Week
School Hours: 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM
Assignment Dates: August 19, 2026 - June 12, 2027 (Tentative)
Support High School Students with Intensive Behavioral Needs
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Special Education Paraprofessional to support high school students in a specialized educational setting serving individuals with significant behavioral and developmental needs. This rewarding role is ideal for candidates with experience in special education, behavioral intervention, crisis prevention, or student support services.
The successful candidate will work closely with educators and support staff to help students succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally within a highly structured environment.
Position Details
Full-time school-year assignment
Monday-Friday schedule
37.5 hours per week
Competitive compensation
Mandatory orientation during the first week:
8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
All required clearances must be completed prior to the start of the assignment
Student Population
This position supports a high school caseload consisting of students with significant and intensive needs. Students may demonstrate:
Aggressive behaviors
Self-injurious behaviors
Intensive safety concerns
Significant behavioral and emotional support needs
Candidates must be comfortable working in a structured behavioral program and implementing approved safety and behavior intervention strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct one-on-one and classroom support to students
Assist in implementing behavior intervention and support plans
Support students with academic, social, and life-skills instruction
Maintain a safe and structured learning environment
Assist with crisis prevention and de-escalation techniques when necessary
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff
Monitor student progress and document observations as required
Support students during classroom transitions and daily activities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with students with behavioral, emotional, or developmental disabilities
Background in special education, behavioral health, ABA, mental health, or youth services
Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
Experience with crisis intervention or behavior management techniques preferred
