Make a difference in the lives of students by providing essential support in special education classrooms as a paraprofessional on a per diem basis in the vibrant Kansas City, MO area. Engage with diverse learners across up to 33 schools, primarily elementary, and enjoy the flexibility of choosing your workdayswhether youre available just once or several times a week, there are consistent opportunities to cover contractor call-outs.

Key Qualifications:

• Active substitute certificate on DESE (must be active before start date; those in process are welcome to apply)
• Previous experience supporting students in school settings, especially with behavioral needs
• Familiarity with Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs); willingness to assist with toileting as needed
• Comfort navigating both one-on-one and classroom aide roles within SPED environments
• Must complete district-specific fingerprinting requirements prior to employment

Your Responsibilities:

• Aid teachers and support students in special education classrooms, responding to behavioral and learning needs
• Step into 1:1 or classroom aide roles, depending on daily assignments
• Use the mobile app to view and select available shifts; locations and schedules are provided per assignment
• Help create a safe, supportive, and positive environment for all students
• Adapt to the needs of various schools in the district, ensuring consistent and reliable coverage
