Job Description

An early childhood school in Jersey City, NJ is seeking dedicated paraprofessionals for the 2025-2026 school year. This contracted position supports an autism program serving preschool and kindergarten students. The role begins as soon as possible and continues through June 2026.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of 48 college credits or hold a paraprofessional certification
  • Experience or interest in working with children on the autism spectrum, specifically in early childhood settings
  • Strong commitment to supporting inclusive education and development
  • Ability to participate in virtual interviews

Responsibilities:

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing educational activities tailored to students with autism
  • Provide one-on-one and group support to preschool and kindergarten children
  • Help create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
  • Monitor student progress and behavior and communicate effectively with the instructional team
  • Support social, emotional, and academic growth in alignment with program goals
