Paraprofessional (PCA, Emotional Support & Life Skills) | Gettysburg, PA
Location: Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
Position Type: Full-Time School-Based Paraprofessional
Assignment Dates: August 19, 2026 - May 26, 2027
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Hours: 35 Hours Per Week (Up to 37.5 Hours)
Daily Schedule: 7:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Multiple School-Based Paraprofessional Openings Available
We are seeking compassionate and dependable Paraprofessionals to support students in a variety of educational settings. Opportunities are available at the elementary and high school levels, with placements determined based on each candidate's experience and skill set.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about special education, life skills instruction, emotional support services, and one-on-one student assistance.
Available Roles
Personal Care Assistant (PCA)
1:1 support for an elementary-age female student with Down syndrome
Life skills classroom setting
Assist with academic, social, behavioral, and daily living needs
Emotional Support Paraprofessional
High school classroom assignment
Support students with emotional and behavioral needs
Assist with classroom engagement, behavior management, and student success
Life Skills Paraprofessional
High school life skills classroom
Support students with functional academics, independent living skills, and daily activities
Collaborate with teachers and support staff to meet student goals
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct student support in classroom and educational settings
Assist with instructional activities and classroom management
Support students academically, socially, and behaviorally
Implement accommodations and individualized support plans
Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff
Assist students with daily living and personal care needs when required
Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of paraprofessional experience required
Experience in special education, life skills, emotional support, or student services preferred
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to adapt to student needs and classroom environments
Educational Requirements
Candidates must meet one of the following:
Active Paraprofessional Certification
48+ College Credits
Associate's Degree or Higher
Candidates who do not currently meet the above requirements must obtain their Paraprofessional Certification within 60 days of hire.
