Job Description

This position focuses on fostering effective communication and learning experiences for elementary students through the use of sign language interpretation and paraprofessional support.

Location: Everett, WA
Duration: Contract, September 2025 - June 2026
Hours: 40 hours per week, onsite

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Teacher of the Deaf to support daily classroom activities.
  • Interpret classroom instruction and facilitate seamless transitions for students.
  • Assist in meeting individualized instructional goals and manage routines.
  • Oversee and maintain assistive listening devices to enhance students learning.
  • Encourage social interactions and speech development among students.
  • Support behavior management and organizational skills within the classroom.
  • Prepare instructional materials and maintain records for progress tracking.
  • Transport and interpret for students during mainstreaming opportunities.
  • Attend and participate in staff and educational meetings for professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or higher in a relevant field with at least 1 year of experience in education or equivalent.
  • EIPA score of 3.5 or higher, or ESSE score of 4.0 or equivalent.
  • Proficient in sign language interpretation with knowledge of interpreter ethics and confidentiality.
  • Strong collaboration skills and a passion for working with children.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Flexible and detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Familiarity with assistive listening and amplification systems is a plus.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to pass a background check.
